Ginger spice - that was my favourite skirt you know

thematerialgirl — Fri, 01/06/2012 - 13:28

There was a brief couple of hours between finishing work for Christmas and going back again when I wasn't ill with a cough and cold. In that time I managed to make the Colette Ginger skirt. I know everyone has raved about this skirt but I wasn't prepared for quite how perfect it is.

Colette ginger

Made from just over a metre of corduroy from East Street Market (£2 a metre) and created in next to no time - this is what we sew for.

It's perfect - the ideal shape for me. I've pretty much worn it non-stop since I made it - it's gone to work, it's gone shopping down Oxford Street, it's gone to the pub (The Roebuck on Great Dover Stret, SE1 if you must know) and it has been perfect for all purposes.

To paraphrase my favourite band, The Wedding Present - That was my favourite skirt you know. If you have no idea what I am talking about look them up now!

beautiful! it's the first time I've seen the Ginger in corduroy and I really love it, it looks practical in everyday life - I might change my mind and plan it

It really is a fab skirt pattern, isn't it? Yours will be so versatile in black - I made mine in mad colours so can't get away with wearing them so often - too memorable!

Woo the Roebuck!

Ooh we love the Roebuck!! A friend of ours used to work there a few years back and we'd be found occupying a couch most Sundays, tucking into a Baltika and roast playing board games. Top notch pub!
Your Ginger looks awesome, too. I love my Begniet but I've not got this one, despite Sunni's awesome Sew along for it last year...

A fellow sewer at the Roebuck? - But you didn't leave your name so I don't know who to look out for...
